INTRODUCING PROJECT
Create visual assets such as key visuals, subtitles, motion assets, and thumbnails for the edutainment show "Math in Daily Life."
Along with the visual assets, I also work closely with the program producer, motion designer, and shooting crew to develop promotional videos.
A total of 11 videos were released, reaching 193k views, which attracted many high school students interested in math.
"Math in Daily Life" is an engaging video series teaching middle and high school students how to apply math in everyday situations. Combining diverse subtitles with geometric illustrations and subtle colors. I'm inspired by mathematical symbols to give the design a retro-trendy feel.
"Math in Daily Life" is an entertaining math tutorial video series aimed at middle and high school students. The content covers interesting and real-life scenarios, such as "The best angle to shoot a basketball," "Choosing a healthy breakfast," and "The probability of falling in love." These topics help students better understand and apply math in their daily lives. Thus, the design should follow the tone setting and become playful.
Subtitle design covers a wide range of contexts, including chapter headings, key summaries, questions and answers, and situational explanations. Depending on the intended use, diverse subtitle designs are created with various styles and geometric illustrations, accompanied by subtle color tones. The result is not only visually pleasing but also captivating.
Regarding the selection of design elements, the initial design stage features a proposal that combines retro and trendy geometric designs. The clean and crisp layout, along with simple colors and elements, conveys a sense of design tension. The primary colors are blue, red, and yellow, with a contrasting dark and light color used as support. For the font, the Japanese typeface Dela Gothic One was chosen to accommodate both Chinese and English text. As for the design's inspiration and expression, they are derived from mathematical symbols.
